Our Beginning

The Women's Spirituality Project began in February of 2005 after a conversation between three colleagues. Karen Bota, Jo Ann Hardy, and Debbie Wollard longed for a new way to come together - a more circular way - a more feminine way to work, to play, to create, to share and to worship. In the first months of the WSP, women came together in several focus groups to share their ideas about this "project." The focus groups were a wonderful testament to the desire that many women have to explore their spirituality in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
The initial focus groups empowered a small group of women, who called themselves the Weaving Circle, to consider the information gathered at the focus groups. The Weaving Circle crafted a statement of purpose, which this group ultimately called the Welcome Statement (see "home page"). The women who came to the focus groups and who participated in the Weaving Circle are united in their desire to gather in a more feminine way. The WSP is now in its fifth year of life and is growing in scope and circular relating. Please add your voice to the circle - each voice and spirit strengthens the whole.
